Implementation guide

A practical route from your current records to a working WMS

Implementation is the point at which software, people, hardware and data must agree. The right rollout depends on your warehouses, products, trading rules and integrations. We agree the scope and acceptance checks with you rather than promising an identical timetable or outcome for every site.

A connected operational flow

  1. 01

    Discover

Walk through real transactions and exceptions.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Clean and map products, accounts and opening stock.

  3. 03

    Pilot

Rehearse complete workflows with your team.

  4. 04

    Launch & support

Reconcile cutover and follow issues through the support portal.

Turn discovery into an acceptance checklist

Document goods-in, storage, picking, labels, deliveries and accounts handovers. Identify which controls are standard, configurable, optional or tailored. For each important requirement, agree an observable test and the person who can accept it. Medicine and food operations should involve the people responsible for quality and operating procedures, not only the software users.

  • Named responsibilities and agreed scope
  • Normal transactions plus exception paths
  • Permissions, audit and document requirements

Rehearse data and hardware together

Review product identifiers, pack sizes, batches, expiry dates, locations, customer prices and account codes before importing them. A migration rehearsal should expose missing or contradictory data before live cutover. Test scanners on the actual wireless network and print the labels you intend to use. Reconcile opening quantities and the agreed valuation basis.

  • Source-system ownership and field mapping
  • Sample imports with recorded validation issues
  • Opening-stock and accounts reconciliation

Make cutover and follow-up explicit

Agree a cutover plan, fallback decision and responsibilities for outstanding orders. Train staff on their own tasks and exceptions, then follow the pilot through receipt, sale, delivery and any return. After launch, customers can raise tickets, attach evidence and follow updates through the support portal. Support scope and response arrangements belong in your contract, not an unqualified website promise.

  • Role-based practice and acceptance sign-off
  • Cutover checklist and contingency decisions
  • Evidence-led support requests and progress history
Take this to your demonstration

Your practical checklist

  • Nominate an operational owner and an accounts contact.
  • Agree the scope and acceptance tests before migration.
